The Fair!

October 17, 2007

So for the first time in weeks I took a half day off to take Will to the State Fair. We have done this for the past three years and it is always both fun and exausting.  Will went on so many rides we lost count.  We didn’t end up eating any fried Twinkies, or fried pickles or any of the other fair favorites (still kinda scared of it) but we did have a great time and Will has been asleep ever since we left the parking lot.

A good tip for those with kids interested in going to the fair; on the way, I stopped by a drug store and picked up a box of individually wrapped antibacterial wipes and put about eight in my back pocket.  Boy are those handy!  After hot dogs, ice cream and candy apples we began to ride the roller coasters (it’s like loading a gun, but it worked out ok) and the other rides that seemed like the good standards.  We were happy that Will is now officially tall enough to fool the ride operators into thinking he’s 42″ tall which got him on most of the rides.  We were bummed to find out that he needs to be 54″ tall to ride the big ferris wheel.  That’s like a couple of years away I guess, but if we keep feeding him the good chicken with all the artificial growth hormones in it he should be there in no time.
